What this site collects, and what happens to it.
Short version: the contact form is the only thing that asks for your details, they are used to reply to you, and nothing on this site tracks you.
Who is responsible for your data
Morton Media Services Ltd is the data controller for personal information collected through this website.
If you have a question about how your information is handled, or you want a copy of what is held about you, email info@morton.media.
What is collected
The contact form is the only place this site asks for personal information. It collects your name and email address, which are required, and your phone number and company name, which are optional. It also collects whatever you write in the message field.
The form includes a hidden field that people never see and a check on how quickly the form was submitted. Both exist to catch automated spam. Neither records anything about you.
Nothing else on this site collects personal information. There are no analytics, no tag managers, no advertising pixels and no social media trackers.
Why it is collected, and the legal basis
Your details are used to read your enquiry and reply to it. That is the only purpose.
The legal basis is legitimate interest: you have contacted a business expecting a response, and replying to you is what you asked for. Where you tick the consent box on the form, that consent is the basis for keeping your details on file for future correspondence.
Where it goes
This website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. When you submit the contact form it is received by a small function running on Cloudflare, which passes it straight to a mail server operated by Morton Media. From there it becomes an email in the Morton Media inbox.
Your enquiry is not stored in a database on this website. There is no CRM behind the form and no marketing platform receiving a copy.
Cloudflare processes the request in order to deliver the site and handle the submission. Cloudflare is a processor acting on Morton Media instructions.
How long it is kept
Enquiry emails are kept for as long as needed to deal with the enquiry and any work that follows from it, and are then deleted. [NEEDS CONFIRMING: state a retention period, for example "enquiries that do not lead to work are deleted after 12 months".]
Cookies and browser storage
This site sets no cookies.
It stores one thing in your browser: whether you chose the light or dark theme. That is kept in local storage under the name mm-theme, it stays on your device, and it is never sent anywhere. Clearing your browser data removes it.
Because nothing is used for tracking or advertising, there is no cookie banner. That is deliberate.
Your rights
You can ask what personal data is held about you, ask for it to be corrected, ask for it to be deleted, or object to it being held at all. Email info@morton.media and it will be dealt with within one month.
If you are not satisfied with the response, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
