PIA

A diary for the twenty-first century.

A paper diary is a record. It is rarely a tool, because nothing about it helps you look across years at once.

PIA keeps the writing habit and adds the part that was always missing: longitudinal analysis. Ideas that keep resurfacing, positions that have quietly reversed, the concerns of one particular winter — these become things you can actually look at rather than half-remember.

It runs on a personal machine rather than somebody else’s servers, which is the point. A diary is the last thing that should live in someone else’s cloud. Only the capture app reaches beyond the desktop.

It is genuinely in daily use, but it is not a product you can sign up for.

Got a problem worth building a tool for?

These all began as a job that kept repeating. If something in your week fits that description, it is worth a conversation.
